Off Shore Wind Is Finally Coming to the US
Now this is progress. We’ve heard about the horrible off-shore oil rig nightmare that is still happening in the Gulf of Mexico. It cost dozens of lives and we may never know just how bad the damage is to the environment.
Well, there is a reason to be optimistic today: offshore wind power is finally coming to the US. This project has been years in the making. Battling massive bureaucracy, and ironically heavy environmental regulation, the project finally has final approval for construction in Nantucket, MA.
This is big step, and as the article states, and launches America’s offshore wind program. This is especially poignant given offshore drilling’s recent approval by the Obama administration. If we can drill offshore, why not generate clean power?
Here’s the project’s success and hopefully many more like it.
