Foldable
solar panels are not especially helpful or useful to use on a home,
but they are intended for use for people who are on the go and want
to be able to have an energy supply with them.
Some of the people who tend to use these panels quite often are hikers
or campers. That’s because these are the kinds of people who
may be able to make good use of electricity in the middle of the woods
in order to be able to hook up little stove or a radio.
Along with being able to charge up devices on the trail, it is also
essential that those who are on the trail be able to have something
light that they can carry. Because hiking is hard enough by itself,
it’s vital that the hiker does not have to exert more energy
than he needs.
The weight of the panels often depends much upon the watts produced
by them. For example, a 10.4 watt panels will weigh less and be easier
to carry than a 20.8 watt panel. However, if a hiker is hoping to
provide energy for others aside from just himself, it may be wise
to get one that provides more energy.
While on the trail, it also may be wise to have a micro station designed
for two Amp-hours. This will be able to supply the power that you
need once at camp. This station also does something else that is very
important.
That is, these micro stations can moderate the voltage that exudes
from the solar panels. This will allow easier access to a direct change
of electronics like hair dryers, electric razors, and radios.
Although foldable solar panels can be used for the home as well, they
do not typically exert enough energy to be able to make a difference
in your electricity bills.
