We have these great windmill kits made for us here in the USA. Very simple to put together - you can be generating wind power in an hour or 2!
Constructed from simple materials like sheet plastic and PVC pipe, these small wind turbines are perfect for someone who wants to experiment with wind energy or for a small cabin system.

Comes complete with 20 feet of wire, ring terminals to go to your 12V battery and everything else you need to build your turbine. Starts charging at a very low wind speed, 3-4 mph. Blocking diode is installed and no charge controller is required.

Output max. 2.25 amps @ max. 22V. Typical output is less than 1 amp.
Optimum wind speed: 15 mph
Max. wind speed: 20 mph
Blades are 22", 44" turbine diameter
Unit designed to sit on 1" electrical EMT pipe (available at hardware and home improvement stores) for your pole (not included).
Does not include battery, we recommend a min. of 32 amp-hr AGM battery.
Complete instructions included.

We installed one here at the shop and it starting charging our 12V battery as soon as we connected it. We connected the 1 amp meter (below) and everytime the wind blows we see the needle move!

Perfect for wind demonstration projects, Boy Scouts, classrooms, summer programs. Also check out our hybrid wind and solar DIY kit.

Please note: For most locations, a solar panel will output more consistant power than a wind turbine. However, there are many very windy locations and it's always windier in the winter when the sun is at it's lowest.
Also, wind can be very erratic. Meaning, you can look up at the trees and they are blowing in the wind and your turbine is perfectly still. This is completely normal, when wind hits it, the turbine spins.
