Using
refurbished solar panels is certainly one way to save money when installing
a solar energy system, but if the panels are not properly refurbished,
there could be major problems that would be hard to fix.
Having this in mind, some of the ways a person might go about refurbishing
panels are:
• Use glass – If a person is using an older panel and
wants to update it, a good way to do this is by applying glass on
to the top of it. It is important to use a tempered glass. If another
kind of glass is used, it will be more prone to break and thus, may
need to be refurbished once again.
• Twinwall carbonate – Some people choose to use twinwall
carbonate and feel that it works well for them. However other claim
that because this can stand up to only 275 degrees, that there is
a good chance that it will have problems if there is a very hot temperature
or if there is no water running through them.
• Polycarbonate – If a person chooses to refurbish with
polycarbonate, he should remember that glazing needs to be taken care
of afterward. By not glazing, there could be definite problems at
a point down the road a bit.
The refurbished solar panels can be almost as good as new if any of
these items are used, but extra care should still betaken at all times
to avoid having to refurbish again.
