RV
solar panels are popular for those people who like to go camping and
be able to have the electronic accessories they need. However, those
who believe that all they need are a couple panels are mistaken.
Hooking up an RV to be able to use solar panels with it can be a complicated
process. However, if the owner of the RV better understands what kinds
of things he will need, the process can be much easier.
Among other items, some of the things that an RV will need in order
to be able to collect and convert, solar energy are:
• RV solar panels – RV panels are different from the panels
that go on a home because these kinds of panels are more rigid and
better able to stand up to the vibrations associated with driving
an RV. Some people choose to install these themselves, but it is wise
to be extra careful to make sure that they are correctly installed
to ensure supreme efficiency and reduce wind resistance.
• Charge controllers – The automatic equalization of these
controllers works to ensure that the battery is operating properly.
Essentially, it drives the sulfates off of the lead plates and back
into the solution. Doing this allows the weaker cells to catch up
with and make equal the power of their cells to the others.
• Mounts – Installing RV solar panels is not as easy as
simply super gluing a couple of panels on the top and taking off.
The proper-sized mounts must be purchased and placed in the right
spots where they will best collect UV rays from the sun. These mounts
should be flexible enough to allow the RV owner to move them around
at different angles.
RV solar panels are an important part of the system, but by far not
the only important part.
