If you have considered solar outdoor lights in the past, but then decided that there were not enough options, it is time to consider them once again. Today, there are multiple options for solar lighting, ranging from the bright to the dim, to the functional to the decorative, from spot lighting to accent lighting, and more.
Here are a few of the current solar outdoor lights options:
• Accent lighting – these lights tend to be decorative both at night and during the day. There are a variety of styles – mission style, hanging lantern, stainless steel, etc. – and they tend to be dim. They are best where there is little other ambient light. They are good for lighting paths and lining driveways. Most are complete, compact units with a small solar panel atop each, but some come in sets that are all connected to just one panel.
• Spot lights, flag lights, and sign lights – these are much brighter than accent lights. They can be used to light up a fountain, statue, flag, tree, or other garden item. They use multiple LEDs or fluorescent bulbs. Make sure that the light is bright enough for the purpose which you intend to use it before purchasing it.
• Solar address lights – make your home easy to find at night for both guests and emergency personnel.
• Floating solar outdoor lights – these are decorative lights that can be floated atop a pond, pool, or fountain. They are perfect for backyard BBQ decoration.Solar outdoor lights have become more efficient and brighter and even more decorative, and they continue to become even more so.
