  • Product Description

We have these great do it yourself windmill kits made for us here in the USA. They are very simple to put together - you can be generating wind power in an hour!
These small wind turbines are perfect for someone who wants to experiment with wind energy or for a small cabin system.

Kit comes complete with 20 feet of wire with ring terminals to go to your 12V battery. The 5 blades are 12" long. Unit is about 20" long from tip of prop to end of tailfin. Complete instructions included.

Unit designed to sit on 1" electrical EMT pipe (available at hardware and home improvement stores) for your pole (not included).
Does not include battery, we recommend a min. of 18 amp-hr AGM battery, but you can also use a 12V deep cycle/marine/RV battery purchased at many retail locations.

Starts charging at wind speeds of about 15 mph. Blocking diode is installed and no charge controller is required. Designed for medium wind speed areas. We can not accept returns for turbines damaged by high wind speeds.

    Output max. 2.25 amps @ max. 25V.

    Optimum wind speed: 15 mph

    Weight: About 2.5 lbs.

Connect an amp meter and everytime the wind blows you will see the needle move! Perfect for wind demonstration projects, Boy Scouts, classrooms, summer programs. Also check out our hybrid wind and solar DIY kit. Some folks with good wind conditions have successfully used these micro turbines to supplement their solar panels when providing power to remote barns, shops, cabins, fence chargers, gate openers, sailboats etc.

Please note: For most locations, a solar panel will output more consistent power than a wind turbine. However, there are many very windy locations and it's always windier in the winter when the sun is at it's lowest. Also, wind can be very erratic. Meaning, you can look up at the trees and they are blowing in the wind and your turbine is perfectly still. This is completely normal, when wind hits it, the turbine spins. These turbines are all tested before shipping for voltage and current output.
